As you all know, there has been fuckery afoot with FFnet and a certain group of immature teenagers. I had previously said I would be using TWCS as an alternative posting site if the need arose, but I have changed my decision and will be using AO3 (Archive of Our Own) as my alternative posting site, as it has a much simpler interface and is easier to navigate.
Retribution is already up on AO3. I will still be posting everything to FFnet as well, but AO3 offers me a nice backup option. As for Retribution though, I know it should be updating soon, but with the kind of stories that are being targeted by the immature twerps causing chaos, I will be trying to keep Retribution under the radar, and holding off on posting for about another week. Hopefully by then, all of this nonsense will have died down and we can all get back to normal.
I have requested invites from AO3 so I can send them out to people who wish to join the site. Once I receive them, I will gladly let you all know and will share them with any of you who wish to join.
Also, I would greatly appreciate it if you would all join in for the boycott of FFnet next weekend which would be from 12:00am on Friday June 8 through 12:00am on Sunday June 10. The timing would be based on US-PST.

I'm afraid of posting my stories also on FFNet. I don't know why they are doing this now. I would love an invitation to this site to post my stories on there as well.

DeleteThere isn't a way for me to resend it hun without using a second invitation code. Give it a little time, the site said that the invitation was successfully sent & the site was a bit overloaded today. With all the stuff going on with FFnet, they are a bit overwhelmed with everybody wanting to join, so it might take a little time for it to come through

ReplyDeleteSo glad you'll be giving invites. I'd hate to lose access to your stories in the event they're pulled from FFn. When I signed up for A03, I was put on a long list--I'm number 11,000-something, and they say they might get to me by September, lol!
ReplyDeleteI hope the boycott does some good, cuz like everyone else, I'm freaking out at all of the stories being deleted. It sure seems like there should be a better way than just deleting people's hard work with little or no warning, such as making a specific place on the site for mature-content stories. The frustrating part is the fact that all this trouble is being caused by a bunch of mostly snot-nosed brats, but at least people are trying to fight back. And if it doesn't work, FFn stands to lose many, many readers and authors, and a lot of ad revenue right along with them. Sure would serve them right...

ReplyDeleteKimberly, I sent you one last night as well. The site is a bit overloaded though so it might not get sent right away. There are so many people trying to move their stuff over to there and tons of invite requests being made, so it may take a day or two for you to get it. The site said it was successfully sent though so... I know when i put in the requests to get invites to send out to friends it took about a day and a half for them to go out.
