Here's a teaser from chapter 2 of On The Wings of Love:
“One more push Renee and your baby will be here,” the doctor says.
I watch as I sit inconspicuously in the corner for the arrival of my newest assignment, not that any of the mortals would notice me, they couldn’t see us unless we made ourselves known to them.
I see my assignment’s father, Charlie grab Renee’s hand as she lets out a scream as the doctor delivers the baby. I pay close attention, listening for the infant’s first cry, which quickly comes as the doctor and nurses begin to clean her off.
The cry does something inexplicable to me…as soon as I hear it, I feel my heart swell with emotion. The nurse hands the baby to Renee and for a split second, I swear the infant looks me square in the eye, as if she knows I’m there even though I remain unseen. It’s then that I feel it, an inexplicable, unbreakable connection to this perfect baby girl…and I don’t even yet know her name.
“Welcome to the world Isabella Marie,” I hear her parents whisper to her.
Isabella, I think to myself. And in that moment, I can’t think of a more beautiful or fitting name for this precious baby who has now been entrusted to my care.
I'm working on the chapter today, and then it will go off to my pre reader. I'm hoping for it to post by Wednesday the latest.
